AI Meets Medicine: HKUST Industry Engagement Day+ Concludes Successfully, Charting the Future of Intelligent Healthcare
The “HKUST Industry Engagement Day+ – AI + Medicine: The Future of Intelligent Healthcare” successfully concluded on 28 April, bringing together over 150 pioneers from academia, industry, and government to explore the transformative power of artificial intelligence in medicine.
The event, held at the HKUST Jockey Club Institute for Advanced Study (IAS), served as a dynamic platform for global insights, startup innovation, and cross-sector dialogue—highlighting how cutting-edge AI technologies are reshaping diagnostics, treatment, and patient care.
The event opened with a compelling address by Prof. Tim CHENG, Vice President for Research and Development at HKUST, who highlighted the University’s pivotal role in bridging lab-bench research with clinical application. Ms. Lillian CHEONG, JP, Under Secretary for Innovation, Technology and Industry, further reinforced the government’s commitment to positioning AI-driven medical innovation as a cornerstone of Hong Kong’s I&T ecosystem.
