HKUST Shines in Seoul with Top Global Startup Award
Huge congratulations to HKUST start-up Daimon Robotics Technology, which has won the prestigious Ministry of SMEs and Startups Minister’s Award at the inaugural Global University Venture Forum! Competing alongside outstanding innovators from leading universities around the world, Daimon Robotics stood out to claim the top honor.
Securing this award among participants from some of Asia’s leading research universities, including Seoul National University, Tsinghua University and The University of Tokyo, highlights the strength and global reach of HKUST’s innovation ecosystem. It is a strong testament to the caliber of our deep-tech ventures and the growing impact of HKUST’s Knowledge Transfer (KT) efforts on the global stage.
Dr. Shin Cheul KIM, Associate Vice-President for Research and Development (Knowledge Transfer), also delivered a presentation highlighting HKUST’s comprehensive Knowledge Transfer strategy and the global impact of its innovation.
HKUST’s participation in the Seoul forum, co-hosted by SNU Holdings, also created valuable opportunities for our start-ups to connect with the international investment community. Through on-stage pitching sessions and one-on-one investment consultations, HKUST ventures engaged directly with global investors and explored opportunities for future collaboration. The forum also fostered cross-border exchanges that can help lay the groundwork for deeper cooperation in technology commercialization.
By translating academic excellence into real-world innovation and entrepreneurial impact, HKUST continues to strengthen its role as a global hub for entrepreneurship and technology transfer. Congratulations again to Daimon Robotics on this outstanding achievement, and to the wider HKUST Knowledge Transfer community for advancing our innovation impact on the global stage!
